Heavenly Angel

A heavenly angel has my heart,
I don’t know how it came to be,
Did God look down one day and see,
I’d never make it on my own.
I didn’t notice at the start,
This gentle beauty close to me,
But now my eyes have learned to see,
I know I’ll never be alone.

She lifts me up on golden wings,
Her spirit’s lighter than the air,
She’s taught my weary soul to sing,
With her beside me I’ve no cares.

And though a mortal I may be,
I’m going to do the best I can,
To be for her the kind of man,
That God intended from the start.
Don’t know if heaven waits for me,
But I don’t worry anyhow,
I’ve got an angel with me now,
This heavenly angel of my heart.

She lifts me up on golden wings,
Her spirit’s lighter than the air,
She’s taught my weary soul to sing,
With her beside me I’ve no cares,
With her God’s answered all my prayers.
